At The Household of Mercy, we strongly believe in educating our children and preparing them to be strategic partners in nation-building.

The core scripture for our Lighthouse is in Matthew 5:14-16: 

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (New King James Version)
We are thankful to God for our HOMe family members who are committed and dedicate themselves to the Lighthouse. Because of the commitment of such members and through the leadership and vision of our senior pastors, our children are provided with facilities that enable us to raise children who are taught the word right from a young age.

The lessons taught at the Lighthouse are very practical, age-appropriate and relevant to the generation we are in as they apply to the daily lives of the children. And we hope that it becomes tools that aid their functionality within and outside the four walls of the church. 

The description of our activities every week and strategies are planned to raise a God-fearing informed and enlightened child, and this is done every week.

Our Children Church runs with the church’s vision of raising a generation that is socially relevant because of the influence of the principles, attributes and values of the kingdom of God. 

We implement our mandate by ensuring the word of God is imprinted as the foundation of their heart:

“Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old, he will not depart from it.[ Proverbs 22:6]

Our strategy is to help them discover their unique talents and abilities, work with them to develop those talents, help deploy them according to the will and purpose of God for their lives and thereby dominate in their sphere of influence. Through this, they become a light set upon a hill and cannot be hidden.

We encourage parents to quiz their kids about what they learnt in church and build on it. The children’s church can never play the part that the parent is supposed to play in the child’s spiritual life, so we encourage the parents to play their part as well.

We believe that every child is bespoke, specifically designed for their God-given assignment. Our goal is to help them come to their fulness.

Our vision is to see children grow in God’s word, so they develop an understanding and relationship with Him that continues into their adult life. We are committed to raising our children as shining lights through which other children in the world might be saved.

In fulfilling our commitment to the future generation, we have designed the “Lighthouse Institute For Excellence (LIFE) a programme for children within defined age groups. During these programmes, they are equipped with life skills covering entrepreneurship, arts & crafts, music, dance, drama, and sports amongst others.

Our programme that runs every Sunday is open to every child in the community.
It allows children to have a place to play and learn with other children.
